Alexandru Cosmin Grivei received the B.Sc. degree in Information and Telecommunication Technologies from the Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I,” Bucharest, Romania, in 2012, the M.Sc. degree (grade 10/10) from the University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB), Bucharest, Romania, in 2014, and the Ph.D. degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Computer Science from UPB in 2021, with a thesis on methods and algorithms for information extraction from satellite image time series.
Since 2014, he has been an R&D Engineer at UPB, contributing to projects funded by ESA, ROSA, and UEFISCDI, with expertise in satellite image processing, artificial intelligence algorithms, and geospatial software development. He has been a key contributor to more than 10 research projects, including 5 ESA and 2 ROSA projects, with research visits at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Munich, Germany, Vicomtech, San Sebastián, Spain, and Marseille, France. He has published more than 20 research papers in the field of Earth Observation and remote sensing.
In parallel, since 2021, he has been a Principal Software Engineer at Survey Compass GmbH, specializing in full-stack development, system architecture, and cloud migration. He is also an active trainer in web development technologies at Atelierele ILBAH, Bucharest.
His research interests include Earth Observation data mining, satellite image time series analysis, machine learning for remote sensing, and geospatial software development.
