Corina Văduva, Senior Researcher, received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics and telecommunications from the University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB), Romania, in 2007 and 2011, respectively.
In 2010, she performed a six-month internship with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, as a Visiting Ph.D. student with the Remote Sensing Technology Institute (IMF). In 2012, she returned to DLR as a Visiting Scientist for two months.
She has been a Research Engineer with the Research Centre for Spatial Information, UPB, since 2007 and an associate research professor since 2021.
Her research interests include EO image processing and data mining based on information theory, machine learning, deep learning, information retrieval, data fusion, change detection, temporal analysis in image time series, big data, and semantic annotation for very high-resolution image understanding and interpretation.
She was awarded at the competition Digital Globe 8 Bands Research Challenge in 2010.
She was the Chair and program committee member at the ESA Conference on Big Data from Space (BiDS) since 2016.
With over 15 years of experience as a scientist in the EO/Remote Sensing field, she has been project responsible or team member in over 20 European and national research projects, and she has authored over 45 scientific papers in IEEE conference proceedings and journals, ESA conference proceedings, and MDBI journals.
